Let's face it, since gamers are not "tethered" to Microsoft due to digital game purchases and dlc's being incompatible with the Xbone they have less incentive to stay onboard the MS bandwagon. Many people may jump ship because of this and go with Sony instead. It almost seems like MS is trying to grab new casuals with Kinect instead of appealing to existing 360 owners who have spent hundreds and thousands on digital games and game add-ons. Backwards compatibility could have gained MS many more console sales and kept people from jumping ship.

If I wanted to play Xbox 360 games, I would use my Xbox 360 lol. Isn't that common sense?

Wouldn't having a device that plays both make more sense than having two consoles cluttering your entertainment center? If the Xbone were backward compatible you could sell your 360 and put the money toward a Kinect if you wanted one.

So since Sony removed the Playstation Eye on the Ps4, shouldn't that have backwards compatibility too?

Nooooo, if they added that they would not be able to re charge people for games they already own with Gaikai in 2015.

Not unless they wanted the console to cost more. Do you really believe the PS4 would still cost 399 if the PlayStation Eye were included?

You do realise there may be backwards compatibility implemented in the future on the Xbox One's anyway, through the "cloud".

Also, Sony wouldn't keep the price tag of the ps4 if backwards compatibility were installed in it.

If I could play my 360 game discs in my Xbone I would definitely find that appealing, but as of right now it is not a selling point for the Xbone because it does not exist. And did you miss the part where I said the ps4 would cost more if it were backward compatible?

I would much rather spend the extra 100 dollars for backward compatibility than Kinect.

There are more games in backwards compatibility than there are with Kinect (both versions put together).
