Anyone else still only have a 720p tv

I do its a 42" Samsung Plasma flat screen that I have had at least 4-5 years. It's been a great tv but I'm worried it will ruin my next gen experience. I know I know X1 runs most games at 720 but I know some games upscale and such. We plan on upgrading as soon as we move to our new place but that's a few months down the road.

How much will it effect me and how many how you are in the same boat.

it's all you need for X1

I have a 55" LED. My brother brought over his PS4 lastnight after he was able to get it working again. He wanted to show me BF4/COD and I was only impressed with BF. I was one of the few that was actually blown away by the campaign visuals in BF3. This is coming from someone who doesn't care too much about graphics either.

I'm also one of the people who has a hard time noticing the huge, game changing difference between native and upscaled. Call me a fanboy all you want. I would admit it if I saw a difference. My lying serves no purpose.

I've got a 50" Panasonic plasma 720 and a 47" LG 1080p led.

Weird thing is my Panasonic plasma looked the best on the 360. My roommate didn't believe me until he played on my plasma aswell and noticed a lot less jaggies on screen.

I have a 26'' 720p in my room.

I hook up my xbox 360 to my living room tv (42'' 1080p) when friends are over. I usually never upscale the system settings to 1080p and can never see a difference. Most, if not all, 1080p TV's (or at least the LED ones) can scale on their own like my bluray player does for dvd's.

Dude same thing happen to me. My buddy had full HD LED tv and we both swore up and down that the 720 plasma looked better for some reason. Take they were both only 42" but still weird non the less

It's not weird for a 720p set to look better with 360 since most content was around 720p. Native>upscaled.

I actually had to sign in to post this one.

People who swear the plasmas 720 look better are because plasmas dominate and are the ideal TV for gamers. When I switched from a 720p plasma samsung to a 1080p plasma panasonic HECK yeah I noticed a major difference. 1080p is beautiful and you will definitely want one asap if youre going above 45 inches. I highly recommend the panasonic 50st60. Look up its reviews on bestbuy.com.

42inch is way too big for 720p

here you go TC, thank me later. this TV is amazing for gaming

don't buy Samsung LEDs, the panel lottery means you might end up with a bunch of ghosting, motion blur, and lag
