Xbox one runs quite hot

Ill keep an eye out to see if more consoles will be like that, but for right they seem to be the only people that have had heat problems. I think the cabinet they put it in was too enclosed.

After the fiasco that was RROD I wouldnt dream of putting either an Xbox One or PS4 inside a cabinet.

The Eurogamer hardware test reports temps of 35-45 degrees Celsius, with the 49 being recorded while gaming, and while gaming and installing at the same time.

Been checking in on a Twitch stream every now and then. Theyve been streaming multiple games on the Xbox One for over 40 hours or so now. They say every so often the Xbox One is not hot at all.

That is a little disheartening. Hopefully the eventual slim unit fixes this problem. I assume it will.

Luckily my PS4 does not run hot as far as I can tell.

The Xbox One seems to run hot. When games are running, the unit is pretty warm to the touch, especially around its cooling vents. This system needs plenty of room for ventilation, too. We had to pull our test unit out of a cabinet after finding that it was hot to the touch, even with about two inches of clearance around the top and sides. Even on standby some heat comes out of the top vents.

Oh oh....

Oh there's more. Just wait.

I certainly hope it doesn't end up like the 360, that would be a disaster.

This. The Australian guys streaming have had it on for nearly 3 days straight now and they've said it wasn't hot. I wouldn't worry about overheating.
