Now there's a 180 for the wrong reasons. Earlier it was nice knowing you had more options to update, now they pull it.

It never was a "option to update offline"

It was a support option for certain customers in certain situations that people made misassumptions about so MS pulled the files so people didn't try to update with the emergency update.

So what if you have already downloaded the patch files? I guess you can still update via USB right?!

Maybe. But the news said MS wants you to contact support directly now. guess they don't trust us. =(

Sonys offline process is still available and the same.
