New Question!

#1RetrowirePosted 11/25/2013 1:30:41 PM
I asked in a previous thread whether or not the ads on the Xbox One dashboard were removable, as it was a deciding factor in whether or not I would consider the console. I learned that you cannot remove the ads, even by means of settings or parental controls.

To everyone that helped, thank you all for the answers.

NEW QUESTION: I currently own a 360, and I avoid the ads on it by leaving my console disconnected all the time.

My internet is satellite based so online multiplayer is impossible for me, I just like the single player or local multiplayer experience anyways.

Can the Xbox One function while offline? Meaning, can I take the disk, put it in, install it and play it with no internet connection at all during the entire process?

You have to download an update, but after that you can play online.

I'm sure soon consoles will be manufactured with the completed OS already installed. If internet is entirely unavailable to you.

No, just the initial system update.

so after the day one update, i'd never need to be online with the system again, and every game would play right out of the box.

After the Day One Update you can keep the console off 100% of the time. You just need it online ONCE for that update.
