They both are.

After a few hours of use they blast super hot air out of the vents. The Xbox One at temps up to 108, and PS4 up to 140 degrees.

PS4 especially is a fire hazard.

Where the hell have you seen a PS4 get up to 140 degrees?

Those are just heat signatures registering that much, it gives off 141 at the exhaust of the console. When you measure the actual air temperature it's around 49c, which is less than 100

It's two totally different readings, nobody uses thermal imaging to measure the temps of electronics.

Hadn't seen the one picture there of the back. Interesting.

However I don't think air heated to 140 degrees is going to start causing fires >.>

Depends where you put it, and just fire isn't the only concern. 140 degrees could easily ruin things close to it...especially cords. Hell, 108 could too. Best to position these babies very carefully.

You realize the ignition temperature of paper...PAPER...is 230C? That's 446F. So no, air heated to 140F is not going to start causing fires or melting things >.> It's not going to ruin cords either.

Look up the ignition temperature of things. Unless you're going to stupidly put White Phosphorus behind your console, you're fine.

So did Digital Foundry use thermal imaging too? Cause they got 122 degrees blasting out of the vent with relatively light use.

IIRC DF is one of the most legit sources when it comes to these things.

So that means Xbox Ones catching fire have nothing to do with the heat then? Considering it runs nowhere near those temperatures?

What could it be then?

Electrical most likely. Could be a faulty connection, frayed wire somewhere by accident, could be any number of things aside from that. Very likely a manufacturing defect, probably someone being lazy or rushing themselves when they made that particular console or whatever part it is.

Why do I have to? If you're incapable of finding them yourself you're incapable of rational thinking and not worth discussing things with. But you can still be scorned for it.

So good thing you agree that this information is legit.
