How does the X1 (which is weaker hardware) cost more to make than the PS4? Doesn't make any sense.

The Kinect cost $75 to manufacture, which makes the system cost still more expensive than the PS4s launch price. Not a counter argument.

Meanwhile Sony sell the Playstation 4 at a profit loss, just like the Playstation 3. Microsoft have different marketing strategies compared to Sony.

Last I heard PS4 only cost $381 to manufacture...so they are profiting somewhat - especially compared to the losses of the PS3.

Both consoles are taking a loss since those figures don't take into account things like shipping. Even then its a minor loss, one game, or one controller and the console loss is negated.
