"To be clear, the Xbox Live Policy & Enforcement team does not monitor direct peer-to-peer communications like Skype chats and calls," ... "Also, we take Code of Conduct moderation via Upload Studio very seriously. We want a clean, safe and fun environment for all users. Excessive profanity as well as other Code of Conduct violations will be enforced upon and result in suspension of some or all privileges on Xbox Live. We remain committed to preserving and promoting a safe, secure and enjoyable experience for all of our Xbox Live members."

This user posts false information.

Yes, it is true that if you curse over Xbox Live - via PRIVATE Skype messages or the upload studio, or via chat in a public room with a moderator present, you will have your account suspended or banned. Microsoft uses a software program to parole LIVE for all uses of bannable words and phrases, especially with the Skype ap.

What I don't understand is how someone could be reprimanded for swearing when video games themselves swear all the time...

They can't ban nor are they banning for Skype. What they're banning for is if you upload gameplay with you cursing a lot.
