$499 is not expensive for a new system in 2013/14.

Its not a bad price at all. I mean just look at new phones these days, they cost $600. Everyone has a phone so I dont wanna hear how $500 is alot. Even if SONY is cheaper with MS you get more accessories.

Reassurance topic of the week: Xbone isn't expensive because I like how it feels expensive.

no its not expensive. i looked at both and didnt want a damn camera, and since the majority of excellent games are multiplat and the fact i've had a playstation at launch since ps1 thats lasted 6 years from day one (ps3 died on me the fastest, ps2/1 are still functional to date) and the fact that playstation has had minor trouble with hardware, it was a no brainer.

i will buy an xbox one when they get rid of the damn kinect from the box. playstation eye or whatever its called is useless to me as well and i will never use it.

also i dont know why they included these headphones.. ps4's earbuds are garbage and the xbox one's looks uncomfortable and poor quality.. my friend just chucked the headset from his xbox back in the box and used a real man's headset. i did likewise. coulda shaved off like 30 cents worth.

There will be a price drop, or the XBox-1 will fail. It's as simple as that. The PS4's win during the system launch has shown where the majority stands on this issue.

The only people who think 500 for this system is reasonable are a very vocal minority in the gaming population.

This is just your opinion and its wrong. You obviously don`t know a thing about business. It isn`t a football game - your concept of winning doesn`t apply here. In fact its incredibly naive. Apple could sell more Iphones this quarter then Samsung sells Galaxy`s you know ? It doesn`t put Samsung out of business...lol

As for your opinion of whether $500 is reasonable there`s well over a million people who already disagree my friend. I can only surmise your a kid if $100 means that much to you on something your going to own for years. This logic was always a fail and its still a fail. Video gaming is here to stay and its a huge industry now. There`s room for more then one system and there`s room for different pricing just like in every other popular industry.

If selling more doesn't mean winning then I don't know what does. Oh, and by your logic the 2 million people that bought other consoles besides the xbox one since the PS4 has been out (that's being generous and subtracting about 1 million sales for people that may own an xbox one and another console and not including handheld sales) say it's not reasonable. Majority rules.

"For a new system," maybe. But new systems are expensive.

I'm sorry I don't get the issue with the price. Sure $399 would have been better but I feel its unrealistic with what they give you. You get way more (better made OS)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

An OS that is purposely gimped to force you to use the camera you didn't want is not better.

Ps4 is for people too ignorant to get the same games on PC with better resolution and free online.

Based on this statement, what does that make the people who buy Xbones which has weaker hardware than the PS4 and is pretty much an inferior PC?

I'm not taking any sides here. I only came because it was one of the most active topics on the front page. But the logic for this argument is hilarious.

1. If most people think it's expensive then it is. You can't claim to know how much other people can afford.
2. Part of the price comes from mandatory things that many people don't want. IE, Kinect increases the price but not everyone wants it, so why should they be forced to pay for it?
