XB1 self publishing clause leads to Indie game going PS-platform exclusive.

Witch Beam is currently building a twin-stick shooter called Assault Android Cactus, currently in development on PC, PS4, Wii U and Vita.

However, the studio is unable to also release it on Xbox One unless it delays the other versions, because the ID@Xbox programme requires that games released on the console have 'day one parity'. In other words, Microsoft will only allow indie developers to release games on the Xbox One if they have not already been released on other consoles.

So.. release them all at the same time? This is what often happens unless it's decided that a game will be ported much further down the road. But as they're clearly developing for 4 other platforms, I see no reason to wait.

360 was cluttered with awful indie games anyway. So whatev.

PS Platform Exclusive... but it's also on Wii U and PC?

...

That's not PS Platform Exclusive.

PC, PS4, Wii U and Vita.

Not PS exclusive. Another misleading title.

Sorry about the WiiU issue.
A honest mistake...
but again, who cares about WiiU anyway? :P

I have zero interest in the game, but man, this is one MS policy you won't see me defend. I get that MS doesn't care about having every game, and this policy does help lock in larger more prominent games into parity, but this is just bad. Hopefully (for the sake of Xbone owners) MS pulls another 180 out of their hat.

Fair deal sir.

I am an avid Indie supporter and the loss of any indie games sucks in my opinion. I disagree with MS's policy in this situation.

Anyone else tired of this parity nonsense? We had this back in 360 days too.
