Is the powerbrick supposed so stay white while turned off?

Just set up my Xbox One and shut it down, but the power brick stays lit with a white light? Is this more of a "standby mode" or is it supposed to be like this?

Well if the console is totally powered off then the light goes orange, not sure right now what color it is in standby...

I've been wondering this too.

White means is in stand by mode, is a lower consumption mode where it can download updates and patches, also it turns on faster

If is orange is in the lowest power consumption mode, is basically fully off

If you hold the Xbox button on the console, it will shut down, the power brick will go to amber. White is for turning on the Xbox with your voice and background downloading, so more like standby.

I didn't realize later on (for me it was 2 weeks), the menu started getting choppy, didn't know why, wasn't butter smooth like it normally is, so shutting it down/boot back up was the solution to free up the memory.

Those who say it cannot be done, should not interrupt the one doing it.

Is it safe to leave it like that? I don't want to overheat or overwork my console.

Totally safe. I'm pretty sure I remember reading that the console was designed to stay on for like 10 years or something crazy.
