it was reported by the same source who reported the first postponing of the xbone in most european markets in november. it's on gamereactor and almost any european gaming news website. also this is microsofts answer to it this morning:

http://www.entertainmentbusiness.nl/nieuws/2013-W50/microsoft-gaat-niet-uitstelgerucht-xbox-one

which is pretty much 100% confirmation it's true. they don't deny it and don't want to respond to the news and simply say they will bring out xbone in more countries next year

I haven't really looked into the trends or anything, but I'd like some clarification. Just because the European market is growing faster than the North American market, that does not necessarily mean that it is larger than the North American market.

Do you have any solid numbers? Serious question, cause I don't really know one way or the other. It sound plausible to me that Europe would be growing faster, but I hadn't heard that they were actually larger yet.

I like how you pass off a rumour as fact. If you read the article, the first thing they do, is credit Gamereactor for the story

http://www.gamereactor.eu/news/102544/Source%3A+Xbox+One+hitting+delayed+regions+Q3+2014/

Note the questionmark in the headline; Xbox One not hitting delayed regions until Q3 2014?
And throughout the article they emphasize this is not offciial or even a fact yet.

I'm not saying the XB1 wonøt be delayed until Q3 (or even later), I'm saying don't pass of hearsay as fact. It's the foum equivalent of click-farming.

On the topic at hand, I'm certain the XB1 will be delayed for Scandinavia and possibly the other delayed countries as well.
MS expected Sony to launch in Japan first, and then after 3-6 months follow up in ther US and EU, so the plan to delay release of XB1 in certain smaller terriotires was hatched long ago (major corporations tend to plan several years in advance). Sony does have a history of starting in Japan, so it made sense for MS, that they would have plenty of time to strengthen their grip on north america and Europe.

Sony did the smart thing by postponing the PS4 launch in Japan until spring 2014. They know XB1 will pose no real threat on their hometurf, so they have plenty of time (and units) to grab marketshares from MS.

*edit*
... and MS never comments on rumours. they standard reply has always been: We don't comment on rumours
