Just wondering what everyone's reasons are for choosing a Xbone over a PS4 (if you only bought one console).

Because for me there isn't really anything the xbone does better then the PS4 besides TV stuff (which doesn't interest me) and I used to be a Xbox only owner the previous 2 generations.

But I did my own research and chose PS4 because of the obvious power over the Xbone and because I wanted some new types of games and MS didn't do this for me previous generations.

And I know the Xbox has more exclusives at launch but they do that every generation and then don't really give you anything new the rest of the life of the console. So to me launch games don't mean much and not falling for that again with MS.

So what is your reason for choosing a Xbone over a PS4 ?

Plan on getting both, but got the xbox first cause it was what I wanted first. Preferred the 360 over the PS3, but had both of those as well.

I buy DLC. If that makes me a "sheep" then oh well. Don't like it? Oh well, get over it.

As someone who has owned the Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft consoles in Gen6 and Gen7 and plans to get a PS4 down the road, the factor I used was which console had more games at launch that I wanted.

The PS4 had no exclusives at launch I was interested in. The XBOne had DR3. The rest of the games I wanted were multi-plat, so those were available on both. On the basis of sheer math 1 is more than 0, so I gave the XBOne the initial edge.

Once the PS4 has some exclusives come out that I want, I'll grab one.

I own a XBOne, PS3, XBOX360, and Wii. I'm in it for the gameplay, not the logo on the box. Can you say the same?

Honestly because Xbox was available. I will get my ps4 when I don't have to do something idiotic to get it.

I know what your trying to say, but isn't it better to choose the console that has the best games overall ? Normally if your referring to exclusives, Sony normally has the better exclusives overall. MS has always given good games the first half of the consoles life and then relies on 3rd party games.

So because of the power difference, cheaper price and (probably better games overall) it seemed like a no brainer to chose my first PS console since the PS1.

That's why I am asking this question

I got both, but I've yet to see a game where I'd notice the differences without having them side-by-side.

This.
One advantage of having a Microsoft store in town. They tend to be well stocked I guess.

I don't think it is better for ME to try and guess which may have the best overall library by the end at the beginning of the cycle. It isn't a horserace and I don't have to pick or stick with a winner. I'm going to get both in time, so I'll get the best of both worlds.

If you are only getting one of the two, then you'll have to decide which system you think will have the better library over time. I would agree that historically Sony has more quality exclusives in addition to the same multi-plat titles that will be on both.

If you are going to eventually get both, then pick the one that has the games you want NOW as the first one like I did.
