Capcom: DR3 was tested w/ 4p COOP, but couldn't handle it. need to scale back

Netcode isn't the issue.

The issue has to do with the sheer size, and quality of the map.

Using more than 2 players lowers the visual quality.

This is why games like bf4 is possible with 64 players.
Its smaller in comparison, plus no zombies.

You seem to be having issues reading the article, so I'm going to post the relevant section again and bold the important part for you:

"Dead Rising 3 features co-op for two players, but at one time Capcom Vancouver tested the sandbox game with up to four survivors at once. However, producer Mike Jones has revealed that it broke down the game’s network fidelity and was ultimately scaled back in time for Xbox One’s release."

Graphical fidelity has nothing to do with it, since each player would have each version of the world render on their screen, which is handled in single player just fine. The issue is likely that the software around multiplayer wasn't fully ready, as bolded above. So they scaled back. Not that hard to understand around a console launch...

They will just ignore the fact that the network is the reason 4 player co-op was removed and continue to bash on the Xbox One as per usual. It's what they do, OP especially.

Yeah man just listen to the xbros, it wasn't xbox live causing the problem dude it was MS telling capcom to half ass that crap so it can be released early with xbone. MS not really in favor of delaying to build a better game to often, especially when they trying to compete <_<

So now they're using "network fidelity" as their excuse? Right, I'm sure updating the minute quantities of data required to have a player in an online game was far too much for the all-powerful Xbox Live's dedicated Azure servers. Power of the Cloud indeed.

I wish they'd just be honest with people and say that a combination of their own incompetence and underpowered hardware was what was truly the culprit behind no 4-player co-op.

64 Playable people is not the same as 4 playable people vs all NPCs. Capcom screwed up and got lazy.

read the whole thing. I won't paste for lazy kids. =)

Really, if the Xbox One can't handle doing 4 player co-op then how is it handle BF4 with 64 players?!

Again like everyone else has said, it's on Capcom's and their net code, not MS or the system. Stop grabbing at straws and misrepresenting things.

Seriously, just look at the net code for Killer Instinct and it's obvious how crappy Capcom's net code is.

ps4 can't handle Final Fantasy XIV at 60 fps so I believe developers are just getting overambitious.
Either that or ps4 is as underpowered as Xbox #1...

When asked if the game will run at 60 frames per second, he responded (partly contradicting what he said in another interview a few months back, the plan probably changed since then) that the team focused on the number of characters displayed instead of sticking to 60 FPS, since 60 FPS aren’t a relevant advantage in a MMORPG.

Yoshida-san also mentioned that the frame rate will be 30 FPS
