Handheld console... especially because of the emphasis on 'the'

Your poll is oddly worded so I didn't answer.

I'd actually argue that the 360 was more of an RPG machine than the PS3, not because of the amount of RPGs but simply the quality.

The 360 had Lost Odyssey, MC2, Tales of Vesperia and Blue Dragon.

The PS3 probably has twice as many RPGs as the 360 but were any of them actually worth playing? Most of them seemed like cheap Compile Heart crossover games.

With that said, I think the PS4 and WiiU will have more to offer this gen in terms of Japanese RPGs, since the trend shifted towards Sony and Nintendo a bit towards the second half of last gen.

The 3DS is the true JRPG beast however. If you're a fan of the genre and don't have a 3DS, than you'll be missing out on the best RPG experiences.

Xbox 360 was the JRPG console. Microsoft did a good job commissioning them.

Most of the only exclusive JRPG's the PS3 got were the girly cartoon-y games, which are pretty good, if you like dungeon crawling and anime, but I definitely cannot recommend the games to most gamers.

Not only that, but a lot of these cartoon-y JRPG's are just not of the same level of production as most games are. They're still good if you like JRPG's, but they're just not up to the standards of modern games.

Don't care who was the "JRPG console"..

Don't care who is the "JRPG console"..

All I know is whomever becomes the "RPG console", gets my business.
