The whole 1080p issue is just a couple of launch titles, right?

X1 will mainly release 720p resolution games my friend.

Yes, really. It's technically superior.

Can't tell from those screenshots. And technically superior does not always equal "looks better". Put Ryse up against any other 1080p game out right now if you need proof.

No, they won't. The PS4's utilization isn't going to stay at the exact same level it's currently at while the Xbox One's improves.

Of course not, but developers have stated the X1 has a steeper learning curve so yes, it will probably catch up eventually, like PS3 did to 360. PS4 will probably always have a slight edge but the differences will become even more insignificant than they are now.

Good job posting a review that was published before the PS4 even released.

Thanks. Reviewers do often get to play games before they are released. Crazy, I know.

Its widely known that the game had stutter issues(due to the game running HIGHER than 60fps) and that single player only ran at 720p until a day one patch which fixed both of those issues.

Except that the review stated the PS4 version was running at 1080p. Good job reading there.

Ryse at 1080p would be technically superior, and look better, than Ryse at 900p. Resolution is about the most universal attribute where higher automatically means looks better. And the screenshots make the difference in AC4 so blatantly obvious that I'm amazed this is even still being debated. Might as well claim that the PS3 version of GTA4 isn't inferior to the Xbox release, too.

A steeper learning curve mixed with weaker hardware overall. Not unlike the PS2 vs Xbox, and again, we all know how that went. It's actually possible that the gap will widen as the baseline features leave developers less breathing room for aspects such as resolution.

And the PS3 never "caught up" to the Xbox 360, here's a game released only a month ago which is notably inferior on the PS3:

Coincidentally, also a game where the Xbox One version is notably behind the PS4 version.

Which goes to show how credible that reviewer is in the first place.

I'm really looking hard for this blatantly obvious difference, and I'm just not seeing it. To me, the PS4 version looks more washed out and blurry to cover up the jaggies. The X1 has a bit more jagginess in some screenshots but better colors. I guess some people might prefer the look of the PS4 version but it just doesn't seem like a significant advantage to me. In any case, it's clear we're not going to agree on this. Good day to you.

Saturation is something you can configure in your TV. The problem with the Xbone is the upscaler crushes blacks, making you lose a ton of detail and it also sharpens the crap out of everything. It's not a matter of opinion, it's a matter of you being deliberately obtuse.

A ton of detail eh? Funny, I don't see a TON more detail in the PS4 shots compared to the Xbox One shots. I don't see ANY more detail actually. The shots look practically identical.

So there you have it folks. The proof is right in front of our eyes, yet there is still denial. I don't know how anyone could find twice the detail in the above PS4 photos. But hey, if it helps you feel that much better about your purchase, good for you!

So I just pulled up these photos side by side and asked my co-workers to take a look and tell me which screenshots look better and all 5 of them who I asked picked the Xbox One. None of these people are gamers, but I work as a desktop publisher, so we have a good eye for detail since we edit and enhance photos all day. It is what it is.
