Keep an eye on those boxes people, may be a potential fire hazard.

I am totally against smoking.

Maybe they should try giving it the patch or some gum....

in all seriousness, this is an old prank. you literally blow smoke into the hardware. he has it unplugged so that the fan won't interfere with the sight gag.

If something overheats, wouldn't it be better to leave it on so the fan can cool it off?

Though I think this is a case of blowing smoke into the console and turning the fan off, this point still holds true. I've been a 911 dispatcher for about two years now and I've had two cases already where someone has started a fire in their home by putting a video game console on the carpet. One was a ps3, the other was an old 360. If I can remember right, one got put out right away with minimal damage but the other started his room on fire, though not a total loss. I can't remember which was which though.

Please do not place your console or computer directly on the carpet. Talking to people while they watch their homes burn down is not fun, even if that person is a Sony Pony.

In another video it was on the shelf, probably pulled it off and unplugged it after it started smoking.
