From now on, I'll buy any next-gen console at the end of said next-gen!!!

Games will then be plentiful by the truckload, and price of both console and games will be very low.

I just won't get immediate gratification of unbelievable games and my patience will be tested beyond any recognition.

NOT! (^_^)

But it's still a feasible concept, right?

If you don't mind being behind technologically by 5-10 years...assuming the coming gen lasts as long as this last one.

Then you are not a gamer. Financially smart maybe but not a gamer.

Works for SP games.

You would be pretty hard pressed to get much MP action though!

If you are patient enough to wait. Gamers, meaning those who game as a hobby, would have a hard time waiting a generation to play old games. Its like when a friend of mine played ME out of order because he got it on ps3 and didn't quite get the story until he played it all again in order.

2 years would suit you better. Nice deals for consoles and a decent catalogue of games. When you have finished those games you have 2 years + of games to play again.

I usually pick one console, then grab the other consoles+exclusives at the start of the next gen. I plan to pick up a PS3 next month (but not a Wii) -- should last me a good while until some real next gen games come out.
