EA UFC will be the most important Xbox One fighting game series

EA UFC is the only fighting game moving the generic forward into next gen gaming qualities instead of being stagnant with street fighter clones and cartoony juggle wannabes. Also fighting simulators are generally more balanced, more realistic and more fun than arcade fighters (fight sims also deserve more evolving, just like the oversaturation of arcade fighters evolved things for that side of the genre, but fight sims are largely superior and hold much more potential that's barely being explored by AAA developers. And MMA is the best sport to base a fight sim on. Real fighters, real deal gaming. )

And it's getting what new gen Xbox One gamers expect,

next gen engine (not cross platform)

next gen graphics and physics,

and forward thinking gameplay that feels more real, balanced and rewarding.

There aren't going to be cheap fireball traps, or cheesy pokes into double digit combos.
The fights will be more even and skill based the whole time instead of one sided vortexes.

UFC 168 itself will be one of the most iconic events that will greatly influence and inspire EA UFC's development further. So it is helpful for Xbox One fighting fans to really understand the developing world of MMA, which has completely surpassed boxing and other fighting sports.

EA has a checkered history, but in my opinion, the one thing they shine on is their EA Sports division, the only decent division they have, anything else they make aside from FIFA and FN sucks, but with the FN team becoming the UFC team, they can definitely develop a quality MMA series for the new gen that redefines fighting games and professional gaming design for casual and hardcore players.

EA MMA was just a test, now with their partnership with UFC they can build a truly amazing fighting franchise that stands as the best fighting game series of all time.

As much as I want him to, I doubt he'll pull it off again. If Silva doesn't showboat this time, game over.

I'd much rather have MK10 or a good fight night( like round 2 or 3).

Silva has to really want to win this time around. He definitely got caught with a punch he didn't see coming last time but I'm not sure if he just lost interest in the belt and Dana is making him do this rematch. If Weidman can seal the deal I think Silva will just quietly finish up his contract and then retire.
