I noticed X1 is now the new nickname...

Trying to move away from Xbone huh? Lol. Wouldn't X1 imply that you are talking about the first Xbox? The whole Xbox One name in general is just ridiculous. I know they are trying to emphasis the take over your living room thing with it, but for that it should be called Xbox AIO, or All-in-One for short. I preferred the rumored names before it came out like Xbox 720, Xbox Fusion, or Xbox Infinity. At least those names sound much better and doesn't make two Xbox "One"s in the world.

I think Xbone sounds right as X1 would probably mean the first Xbox like you are saying.

Yeah I mean like I was starting to see "Xbox 1" show up on GameFAQs and other forums to differentiate the original Xbox from Xbox "One"

To be fair most people call the first Xbox the original Xbox. Often typed as OG Xbox.

I like Xbone. It appeals to my crude sense of humor.

Because it's not "lol" anymore. It's old, we all got the joke. Lets put it to bed with the Bases, and over 9000's, like good little net trolls.

In private, I'll use it. I'll explain where it came from (to those irl who need it), and my surprise at how it got through MS marketing... although considering where this console was 8 months ago, it's not surprising. However, at no point do I think it necessary to actually type it.

Moving away from it? More like, moving on.

Those "Sony Mods" that everyone likes to talk about on this board have begun deleting all thread topics with "XBone" in the title and many posts within threads that use the name under the guise of "trolling", no matter what else the user of the phrase says in their post.

"Sony Mods" my fanny.

And to users who say "IT'S OLD. WE GET THE JOKE. MOVE ON", you are the same crew who have been spouting the phrase "Sony Pony" for the last 7 years. Follow your own advice if you believe in it so much.

It'll never get old. Reason being because ironically it's easier to differentiate Xbone from the original Xbox 1. Faster and easier to type too.
