Why don't FPS games have the Desert Eagle anymore?

It may seem "cool" but it's a garbage handgun.

It's large, impractical, and not designed for infantry combat.

My point still stands.

IMO, the fad of it being cool has passed, which is why it's no longer a regular in video games.

I wouldn't call it garbage it's just unwieldy in any actual application other than fun. Trying to accurately fire either a 44mag or .50AE repeatedly and quickly is no small feat. It's like the 1911 iconic and most likely never to lose its cool factor but there is newer and better designed handguns. The Sig p226/9 are growing in popularity as are guns like the FN57 with its "exotic" ammunition and high capacity/low recoil nature.

No it doesn't. The points you listed only apply to an actual Desert Eagle in real life situations. TC is talking about video games, video games are fantasy. The whole craze of the Desert Eagle in video games was that it's a big ass handgun with a big punch. People using them in games sure as hell weren't thinking "it's large, impractical, and not designed for infantry combat."

Now you calling it a fad and saying it has passed is a different idea and one that I agree with.

When it comes to any video game handguns, I don't screw around with anything that isn't a .45

I blame Metal Gear Solid for that
