Which TV Should I get for my new X1?!

Got around $300 to spend and the two that I am looking at, I can't decide. This will be for my X1 and PC.

Now, I know Samsung is the preferred brand, but that Vizio has many reviews and is a smartTV on top of it. BUT, I don't really need that aspect...

Both of them I can get for around the same price, Vizio being about $30-40 cheaper.

What would you recommend? I'm not a enthusiast, I just need something to get me by.

ps, if anyone knows, I want the best specs that would look good gaming on my PC as well.

Get the Vizio, and a warranty if anything goes wrong.

Wish I had more technical background to help you TC. I would usually buy a Samsung. I've always liked their displays, very nice quality and I trust the brand. In this case the Samsung has one less HDMI port (the Vizio has 3 and one of them seems to face to the side which is always nice) and the Vizio is 120hz refresh rate, the Sammy has 60zh, keep those in mind

Well, in most people's eyes they are. Nowadays, not so much.

Personally, when I chose an lesser known brand, I went with HiSense

After doing research I learned they are a Chinese OEM maker for other brands like Samsung, LG, etc. (meaning HiSense makes the stuff and the other folks slap their names on it.) They are also a vertically integrated manufacturer, which allows them to have significantly lower prices than their competitors on comparative-spec sets.

Along with that, they have the longest factory warranty - 2 years.

When reading reviews, in general, most people who have them really enjoy them, and now I, myself, am included in that category.

vizio is indeed a budget brand. Its quality to price is just preferred which is why it's popular. You don't need smart tv features when most blu ray, and consoles can do all that.

I would get a samsung over a vizio any day.

Um smart TVS are not "worthless". Having netflix built in is extremely useful. Plus TC, id look at a plasma honestly.

Anyone (for the most part) who says that smart tv stuff is useless hasn't owned one. Just saying.
