I thought the same thing when I first started using it, but I can say without hesitation within a few hours of using it, it feels way more right. I don't know. There's something just way more organic about holding it. I've gone back to 360 quite a bit to play NHL '14, because I needs me my hockey fix, and the 360 controller just feels like a clunky piece of deadweight in comparison.
I'd say just muddle through the X1 controller for a while, I hope you settle into the new controller. I'm not offering promises because it's definitely a matter of taste, but in my opinion, it really does grow on you.
The rough edges on the sticks bug me, but other than that it feels at least as good as the 360 controller to me. I didn't have any trouble with the shoulder buttons. And the trigger feedback in Forza was actually pretty useful.
But I wish there was a purely wired version and that the console had USB ports on the front. And just like the 360, I wish the controller were bigger - about the size of the OXBOX controller would be good for me.
Cheating has gone hand-in-hand with gaming for centuries. Video games in particular often have cheats built right into the game.
