It's definitely the fan, it sounds like a hamster running on a wheel.

I've asked for a Repair but I'm thinking other people say they have a clicky fan, mine doesn't click at all.

Also, the Xbox makes noises while in Stand By and I just cannot get the Kinect to "Turn On" my Xbox, but it does work while it's switched on, e.g "Xbox turn off".

So far I'm fairly happy with it, I bought it for 260 with FIFA and COD (no it wasn't stolen!)

I could just sell it but I'm going to wait for Titanfall and see if it holds up!

My first one sounded like that and I got an advanced replacement. It was audible 10 ft away. The xbox should be silent outside 3 ft or so

Yep, that shouldnt be happening. Return/replace it.

I have the same noise but I am keeping it.

To the guy above, did they send you a new one in like a regular Xbox One box? Because I am worried it is just going to be a refurbished one.

To be honest, my faulty 360 Slim was replaced with a refurb and it looked brand new.

Oh man at 14 seconds I thought the Blair Witch got you. Happy ending though.

I am sure it will look and work brand new. But if I pay $500 for a system that is faulty right out of the box, I want a brand new system.
