Is it TRUE it took $60million to make Halo 4?

30 million to make and 30 million in advertising.

I read this somewhere....
if it is true... How much will XboxOne games cost to make?

GTA V also sold $1,000,000,000 in the first three days, however.

Advertising. Ads are the thing that cost the most with the least actual value, as most big brands dont even need ads, its the smaller games that benefit most from them, big games get by on word of mouth, & gamers w/o friends or work colleagues are usually trawling the net anyway due to being friendless nobodies.

That's why back in the n64 days, if a game sold two million copies, it was a success. Now, if a AAA game sells 2 million copies, it's a complete fail. The cost of producing a game has gone through the roof. That's why THQ went under and Capcom is facing the same problem. Selling five million copies won't cut it anymore unless you're an indie developer, which in case, it would be fantastic to sell that many copies.

Talking to Polygon, Microsoft Studios head Phil Spencer described Halo as a $3 billion franchise, and as the “most important entertainment product in the company”. When pressed for how much it cost to create Halo 4, hey big Spencer remained tight-lipped, saying only that “nothing’s even close.”To put that into perspective, Halo 3 had a development budget of $60 million, and made over $300 million in first week global sales for Microsoft, back in 2007. If i had to take a stab at the budget for Halo 4 however, I wouldn’t be surprised to hear if around $80 – $100 million had been spent on creating the game.

These people are saying that Halo 3 cost 60 million just to make so I reckon they are probably right that Halo 4 cost more then this just to make.

It's kind of sickening how much it costs to make a game these days... Mind you I'm sure lots of that are overblown upper management salaries and what not.
