does the Xbox one have the optimal resolution setting like the 360 has?

That setting gave me much better picture quality than the 720p/1080p settings. I think it was 768 or something like that.

I don't think it does, at least from what I remember when I set my resolution. It does have the 1360 x 768 or whatever that number is though.

My console only has 720p and 1080p as options. Not sure how other people are getting other options, but I just have straight HDMI from xbox to TV, so maybe it has to do with how it's hooked up, or the tv make/model?

It may detect what your TV can set to, I'm not sure. I definitely have that third option on mine though. Mine is just HDMI as well, with my DTV box run through the One.
