Fun Facts from MS latest fiscal report

#41Rome218Posted 1/24/2014 9:16:51 AM
The PS3 cost $200 more and sold more in its first year than the 360 did, the price excuse is getting old. Also the PS4 is selling more software, people on this board seem to ignore November NPD and the rest of the world.

Maybe I am reading this wrong.
http://vgsales.wikia.com/wiki/PlayStation_3
In their first 4 fiscal quarters, they sold 5.63 million.

http://vgsales.wikia.com/wiki/Xbox_360
In their first 4 fiscal quarters, they sold 5.9 million.

5.63 vs 5.9
The larger number appears to be in MS's favor.

Also, the most selling console last gen was the cheapest, the Wii-U. The price difference isn't an excuse, it's a reason.

All I was saying was that your argument was one sided

Yep, I own both systems but look at the facts in a realistic view

You are uniformed about facts pertinent to your own argument..

Yet i'm ONE SIDED...

Makes sense.

You created a scenario completely in favour of PS4 how is that not one sided?

Because THAT IS the current scenario...

Infinite supply is not the current scenario

yet limited supply that still outsells the Xbox in every market is...

Oh, I forgot to address software sales. Thank you for bringing up NPD.

Not only were multis selling more on the Xbox 1:

Lastly, Aaron Greenberg drops the last NPD sales figure fact stating that 1st Party titles on Xbox One sold 1.5 million units compared to 599k on PS4.

Don't get it, and does the PS4 actually continue to outsell the Xbox or have they simply sold more? Yes there is a difference

I also never disputed that claim.

If sony could meet the demand for ps4, that gap would be alot larger than it is now for sure

You ponies ignore 2 FACTS.

1. Ps4 is in 3 times the countries. They better sell more. This tactic is used to purposefully create shortages. Remember how they lied about unlimited preorders? They pushed their supply to more countries to make it easier to sell out.

Sony have still sold more PS4s in NA than MS have Xbones. Yes, even with the shortages and MS flooding the market (900k on shelves).

"In a statement picked up by CVG, SCEA Senior Director of Corporate Communications Dan Race pointed to the PS4's global sales lead and cited short inventory for a poorer US December showing.

"PlayStation 4 remains the cumulative leader for next-gen console sales in the US since the launch on November 15," Race said. "We sold every PS4 available at retail in the US and were out of stock in December due to overwhelming consumer demand."

Sony announced on January 7 that it sold 4.2 million PS4s globally as of December 28, 2013. Microsoft put on record January 6 that it sold three million Xbox Ones worldwide last year."

http://www.techradar.com/au/news/gaming/consoles/microsoft-xbox-one-was-top-selling-us-console-in-december-1216037

This tells us that the PS4 has a far bigger demand than the Xbone, fact. Worldwide is just ridiculous, you only have to look at the number comparisons between the consoles in the countries they've both launched in (UK, Spain, Italy etc).

2. It costs 20% less. It had better sell more.

Now in closing what matters most is software in which case xbox one is doing great and tht is all that matters. Meaning devs wont ignore them like the vita and MS can afford exclusives like DR3 and Titanfall while sony improves nothing on psn.

1 week head start genius. Compare the 1 month where both were out equal amount of time and the more expensive xbox sold more hardware AND software. Try to spin it all you want but this just showcases your delusions.

I was talking about the first full year (07-08), not financial year as the PS3 launched mid Nov meaning only 6 weeks = a quarter, also the PS3 was only available in 2 countries for the first 5 months. Interesting link though if true, the PS3 demolished the 360 in 07 and 08 despite being far more expensive?

The Xbone had a week head start in Europe and is getting absolutely demolished there, more excuses?

What's wrong with saying the first fiscal year? Is it not a year? o_O
If you want to talk about 07 and 08, then lets wait for this year to end before drawing those comparisons.

I hope you understand why the November NPD numbers are ignored, because MS is dominating in software sales. It's like PS4 people bought the system and like, one game.

It's amazing how even in a positive xbone topic zeph still gets angry. I wonder if there is anything out there that makes him happy?
