Microsoft can fix the problem if they enforce 720p/60fps

On most games. Anything running past 720p @ 60fps is just gravy. My question is, is that too much to ask for from the X1 hardware?

You will still get to play your games in 1080p. Native resolution gate is already lost, but they can win framerate gate. It would be a brilliant move.

I don't think you would find too many people willing to accept 720p for most games.

The fact that a lot of games on PS4 are in native 1080p/60fps really doesn't help the Xbox One if they enforced 720p/60fps. That's still an entire resolution gap.

I know this isn't the majority, but I've seen quite a few people content with the 720p games so far. It at least still upscales the games 1080p. Microsoft is gonna have to make some decisions IMO.

Yeah people that already bought Xbox Ones are content. Going forward it won't be good look when you can get the better performing machine for $100 less.

They should do with Sony does and just stick to last generation ports.

To sacrifice fps for resolution though is a terrible choice,

For those who never played Ninja Gaiden 2 on 360, youtube the staircase battle for it, resolution can be 720 and be tolerable, but with 30fps when it drops its devastating to the gameplay.

It would be a better decision for gamers on xbox to have 720/60 then 1080/30

Anyone who thinks otherwise is wrong. Then again its still preference, some people enjoy slow-motion with 1080p.

I hate low fps, it will suck on PlayStation and it will suck on xbox. If it becomes the norm though, its just horrible.

I guess you must mainly game on PC then because consoles have always been 30fps or lower for the most part. Then generation we might finally start seeing a lot 60fps games.

I'm on PS4, i'm looking forward to 1080/60 on mostly every game.
But if I was strictly xbox I would rather 720/60 all day because when you target 1080/30 and that 30 drops, you go into slow-motion which is just very annoying and makes things feel so sluggish your mind boggles.

I don't need a highend pc to appreciate that difference.
60 drops to 40, all good, 30 drops to 10 - mind b-l-o-w-n slow-mo.
