Kinect Ristar

Ristar is one of those characters that doesn't get nearly enough love, and I'd adore the thought of the little lad returning.

Xbox One would be the ideal platform for Sega's redheaded stepchild, because of the unique mechanics of Ristar's gameplay - his ability to stretch his arms infinitely, grab any surface or enemy, then pull himself to that location.

Now imagine this - instead of a 2D platformer, we view the action from just behind Ristar himself (perhaps his body is semi-opaque, or maybe it could even be first-person). Using Kinect, and sitting comfortably on your bum-bum, extending your arm forward stretches Ristar's corresponding arm wherever you're aiming on-screen. A clenched fist will grab that surface, and once grabbed, pull your arm back and Ristar (you) will pull himself (yourself) to that location.

Now imagine the ability to utilise both arms independently - you could grab and enemy in each hand and throw them by making a throwing motion, smash them together by... well, smashing them together.

Now, how do you run? Well, you don't need to. Imagine the levels set out with a degree of verticality (think Jumping Flash) so there's always plenty to grab onto and pull yourself towards - propulsion is never an issue. And by using both hands, extending, grabbing, and yanking backwards quickly, you can do Ristar's signature "shooting star" move, sending you flying rapidly forward in a stomach-churningly awesome boost.

What say you? Kinect Ristar? Yay oder nay?

Come on now, surely one of you loves Sega/interesting Kinect ideas/Star men with extending grope arms.

That's actually not a bad idea and it'd be a great time to revive it as maybe an Xbox Live game instead of a full retail release. I could see it doing pretty well for 15-20 bucks.

Cheers Krillin! You're my favourite character in Dragonball and DBZ.

But in all seriousness - it's a pity that so many people dismiss Kinect 2.0 based on the failings of it's older brother. Something like Child of Eden would've been faultless with Kinect 2.0.

This is why I'm certain Ristar Kinect using the 2.0 would be awesome - I'm just imagining a first-person kinect-powered two-handed lunging headbutt. POW!
