What's up with the huge and ugly power brick?

I don't understand why a console that's already a monstrous size needs to have a giant power brick. How is it that the PS4 can pack faster hardware AND a power brick into a console half the size of an Xbox One.

Pretty bad engineering on MS's part.

Having a power brick never bothered me, but each to their own I guess.

The Xbox One board should be renamed to the Official "Troll Here" board.

It's to keep the system cool so it will last longer, PS4 runs much hotter if you bothered to even check.

It's just a power brick, why are all the worrying over it, stick it somewhere and forget it, it's not a big issue.

When I saw it at my friend's house I was appalled. I always hated how my 360 had that power brick. It makes routing cables in my cabinet a pain in the ass.

I too prefer no power bricks, but if that's what it takes for my x1 to run completely silently....then so be it.

You must be new to xbox the original was ungodly huge granted i dont think it had a power brick the original 360 was huge and had the ungodly power brick and as for X1 im asuming they made it so big to kill zues so they can harness cloud power as for the annoyingly large power brick that has a light brighter than the sun thas MSes answer to the annoying ps4 light that dims when u go to standbye.

I still have the original Xbox. The 360 S was a step in the right direction. Xbox One is a step backwards.

I don't usually hang out behind my TV/entertainment center, so if the damn thing was a cinder block made of led, it wouldn't make one bit of difference to me tbqh.

I swear people can find some of the most asinine things to concern themselves over lol.

The brick secretly houses the massive power of the CloudŽ, soon to be unleashed on the world.

Notice the PS4 seems to be missing one. Suckers.
