What does that mean for the future of the X1?

It means they'll have lost January and nothing more.

X1 had the highest game sales in january. X1 is the home of real gamers for sure.

Honestly, it depends on how much they lose by. If they lose by a large margin (even with the PS4 supply still constrained through most of January) I think they'll have to be some internal discussions about a price drop/budget model/kinect-less model. I'm not sure how long they can sell weaker hardware at a higher price.

Looks like they did lose big this January. Geoff Keighley just tweeted this: https://twitter.com/geoffkeighley/status/434102813178597376

per @LuckyLongworth: PS4 was #1 in sales for next gen consoles in January, nearly doubling the nearest next gen competitor.

That's not good. I think they will for sure be discussing some things; especially losing in the home country like that.

I just saw that, I legitimately think Microsoft is in some trouble.

It seems the PS4 has dominated in January, huh? Why are there more games being sold on X1 though? This is a serious question. How does the PS4 possibly double the X1 in sales, but sell less games?! I am baffled by this.

Well as long as they are in the 150-200k range it isn't a big deal.
