PS4 version of Ground Zeroes uses different technology for the sky than the X1

He did say the PS4 had room to spare even with it running 1080p/60fps, so maybe that's what he meant?

good to know ^^

Supposedly, according to this site and others I've googled, the PS4 version is implementing dynamic atmosphere/weather effects, while the X1 version uses your traditional 2d skybox.

Well that seems to completely reinforce my notion expressed over the last few pages that the XB1 version is inexplicably running on a primitive build for no reason other than "just because".

Skyboxes are easy on resources even if you're using crazy textures on the inward-facing mesh. In fact, even basic normal maps on skyboxes is an early 00s thing.

It's not that the Xbox One can't handle this type of skybox or ambient particle system; even a junior programmer could implement an ambient particle system - look at Lost Planet 3, that's a last gen game, and that has dynamic particles and a triple-layer skybox.

So why is the XB1 running on an old, last-gen build?

Beats the balls off of me, guys.

Ask him. He did say it was special treatment though lol.

he did made MGS for 360 better than ps3, but when its better on ps4 than xb1 you complain?

I was answering that user's question and if you went to the link you'd see Kojima said that. I do remember them releasing MGS2 on Xbox with heavy slowdown that wasn't there in the PS2 version on a system not as strong. I haven't seen me complaining. I can buy it for whatever I want to buy it for.

I'm just using common sense when a bunch of others here are being ridiculous. The ones that act like this is the OMG it doesn't get any better on Xbox One graphically. Even though there are games already out that look better.

It's obvious that the PS4 version is separate from the XB360/PS3/XBO version. The XBO version is probably a port from the XB360 version.

Why are we talking about a $39 rehash again?

LOL at everyone thinking Kojima just ignored the Xbox One.. The system couldn't handle 1080p @ 60fps(not an insult, just a fact for my point) with this open world game. How would it have room for the dynamic sky?

Seriously, MGSV was the first game shown at Mircosofts E3 presentation. Xbox got the better exclusive Extra op mission.

Perhaps the reason MGSV looks better on PS4 is the same reason every multiplat game looks better on the PS4. Hardware.

I refer you to my previous messages; if the game has been polished from an earlier build, it is literally a previous, inferior version.

And it's not a hardware limitation, I outlined all of this a few posts ago. We're talking early 00s trivial stuff here.
