Why was the lack of backward compat not a deal breaker for you?

It's never has been, I never cared much for BC on any system. The one thing I enjoy are those NES/SNES/Sega/Genesis all in one systems and rarely even use the one I have thanks to emulation

I buy new consoles to play new games. If I want to play old games I do it on my old consoles.

I was going to keep my old consoles anyways, so the lack of backwards compatibility was no big deal to me anyways.

Couple of things....

Speaking as someone who has experienced, first hand, every generation of home video gaming, BC has never been something standard or of any expectation.

Also, I still have a 360.
