Question regarding my Turtle Beach XP500s and the new headset adaptor

Hi, so a couple questions. I have the Turtle Beach XP500s currently from my 360. Currently I could hook them up via optical cable in the back of the Xbox One.

1) Currently, am I getting 7:1 surround sound? Or even 5:1? Or am I getting stereo?

2) If I am getting surround sound, with the new chat adapter, will I still be able to maintain surround sound? Or will I be converted to Stereo sound?

Really any info on this that anyone has would be great, thanks.

from what I understand the X1 carries the audio to the controller itself and then through the adapter. It processes the dolby right on the system itself before sending the data.

So it'll be stereo then?

I'm pretty sure the surround sound will remain unaffected and that the adaptor is just there so that you can chat through the headset instead of using kinect.

Microsoft will never sell the Xbox One without Kinect!

Cool, I hope so. I'll double check next week just in case. Thank you.

its alway going to be a stereo signal with surround sound processed. The x1 with process the dolby for you. All you should have to do is plug your audio jack into the headset adapter and it will work.
