Kinect appreciation thread

I absolutely love the kinect. Makes navigating the console easier, adds extra controls and options to the games, and in general is a great feature.

Honestly I catch myself using it rather then the controller unless I'm trying to browse netflix or in a game. For app usage and playing my frequent netflix shows. It's easier and faster.

And in dead rising 3. The simple

Voice commands ignoring the boss ones which are fun too. Are simply great fun for messing around.

You state how amazing Kinect is, but list several applications where it doesn't work that great...

Not sure if serious but

Yeah the voice commands are great like "Xbox Watch TV" for my parents when they want to switch to TV.

Kinect is great. We just a good game like Kinect Sports Rivals to come out so everyone will stop bashing it.

it's been said by others, but i love getting home at night and simply saying "xbox on" to light up my living room with a/v entertainment. don't need the light switch. don't need the remote.

I love the ease of use that the Kinect provides the Xbox One. It's so awesome being able to to power up the console and without even touching the controller or navigating through any menus, you can tell it to load up a game or app. I can be in the kitchen rummaging for food while setting everything up. Plus if I'm in the middle of a game and can't pause, it's quick and simple to snap another program like Xbox Music seamlessly (My only hope in the future is that they fix XBM so that you can navigate playlists without having to make it go fullscreen. I stream directly from my PC and that's over 60,000 songs, so I don't want to just run everything at once. 360 could do it quick and easy from the guide menu, so I imagine it's in the works.

actually liked it a lot in Dead Space 3. I actually jumped ship from PS3 (played DS1, 2, and Extraction on there) to 360 to use Kinect features.

I wouldnt mind the kinect if they actually made a good game for it. Its been out for how long now and still not one game for it that really stands out.
