what headset is better?

#11mrpicPosted 3/1/2014 6:30:32 AM
i have Turtle beach x41 (they are brilliant)
i have a astra a40 headset (also great)

i would if choosing between the 2 id say the build quality of the astros is better (when i wear em i feel like im wearing a quality headset)

when wearing the x41 i love the functionality and the sound quality (something not often said about wireless headsets and turtle beach but these really work well i advise giving them a try as you can pick em up cheap and with a xb1 adapter will work for ya

I use Astro A40s. The sound is pretty good for games, music, etc. I didn't go for A50s because I've had bad experiences with wireless headsets.

I have had my xp500s for a long time now but apparently the XB1 adapter won't be compatible with it because it is a wireless headset, so freaking lame

It will work, you need a talkback cable. They are 8 bucks on turtle beaches website.

To everyone that replied to me, yes maybe I got a bad batch of a50's or something and I have Astros the benefit of the doubt the first time but 2 times in 2 weeks is just unacceptable when I'm payin that much.

Astros forever ...

I dunno.. maybe Turtle Beach has improved in quality since I had mine.

Trittons are garbage.

I beg to differ. I have Tritton Ax720s from 09 and they work better than any Turtle beach set I tried.

They don't need batteries. The controller powers them with the included chat adapter.

No batteries, they are powered by your controller with the wire you plug into it. So they aren't wireless. They claim to be surround sound but I thought the adapter broadcasted in stereo. But they are built only for the X1 so I guess it changes to surround sound, highly doubt is Dolby.

if anything, they will probably be virtual surround sound. I'm using my trittons through the optical port and Dolby sounds fan-****ing-tastic with the better quality cable I use for my One. Sounds better than the cable my headset came with that I use for my 360.
