So an MS representative tells you that this system will potentially bring better visuals and that MS is testing the system, and suddenly he has no idea what he is talking about? Really? He literally just stated facts.

He didnt even claim photorealistic graphics like your title implies...nobody did. The author of the article said photorealistic lighting...not graphics, and that has nothing to do with Spencer or the tweet. And nobody said this technology is new or revolutionary...just that its advanced.

This is just another pathetic attempt to exaggerate and discredit someone stating facts solely because they are affiliated with MS. At least try to read and address the article next time.

Are you mad? Read. He said "photorealistic rendering" There are no facts here. Just PR spin from Spencer.

Try watching the 90 min Carmack presentation before jumping the gun. he knows what he's talking about. Spencer and Major nelson do not.

No he didnt. Here is what spencer said: https://twitter.com/XboxP3/status/439673026699751425

Now show me the words photorealistic, rendering, graphics, or anything even remotely close to what you claim to discredit in your OP.

Its pathetic that you are trying so hard to claim he doesnt know what he is talking about when all he literally said is "We've done experiments with Realtime Raytracing. A ton of potential with this tech, amazing visuals." There is no PR spin, there is no promices or claims of revolutionary new tech. Its just saying that they know about it, there is potential with it, and they have tested it.

Photorealistic rendering is the title of the Gamespot article...written by...not Phil. Stop trying so hard. If you are going to attack MS, at least point out legitimate issues because those exist. This is not one of those issues. This is just pathetic.

Hey look, lets all hate on MS for trying to do something interesting. Lets hate on MS for taking chances. Lets hate on MS for giving us links of interesting tidbits to read. Wow what a bunch of *** holes at MS trying to do new and different things. Lets grab the pitchforks and torches and burn the village down.

I think it's more "Let's give the technical reasons why the MS Employee is talking out of his butt".

Cloud computing isn't an option that should be pursued for graphics with the current internet infrastructure that the world (and mostly US, their home market) has, as most US residents are looking at less than 2 Mb down connections.

So many X1 developers in this thread. How about we wait and see. While it sounds like PR speak, I would disagree because the conversation keeps going back to the cloud. The first lesson in negative PR is to move past the story, not keep bring it up.

All of this speculation is leading up to an E3 demo that MS is hoping will blow everyone away.

Well, I'll wait until I see it with my own eyes. But if they do somehow pull it off, Then that's good.

The PS4 and Xbone are both fine consoles. Nothing can change that.

Its pathetic that

You use that word a lot. Don't be so rustled and defensive for MS. They're not paying you.

The cloud's bandwidth limit (Average user connection) makes it a terrible choice to put any kind of graphical output on, it works for Ai, because it can allow for more "adjusted" Intelligence (Modifying the ai daily is a great trick to make it seem more human and random), but Cloud computing graphical power is a drop in the ocean compared to just having an up to date Graphics processor in your units.

John Carmack would agree. And now Mark Cerny explains why!

OK dont get me wrong, he might be clearly talking out of his butt. Ill give you that. The thing is, at least there are interesting things to read about when it comes to MS lately. I am hoping that them being #2 in sales is forcing them to be more pro-active with the X1. I dont expect every idea to pan out, but if they could pull at least something new and different off that would be cool.

Also, the cloud doesn't have to process graphics to increase visuals. It can process other aspects of the game, freeing up resources leaving the hardware for graphic processing.

^ Guess always-online is really coming back then if Xbone games need to rely on outside servers to get better performance. Not good.

Always online would be awesome. I feel for the people who live in the middle of nowhere but the haves should not have to suffer because of the have nots.
