Why no upgradable hard drive?

I know that the one will get USB storage but why not just let us upgrade the hard drive to something bigger and faster?

That isn't how MS does things. Everything has to be locked down, proprietary, and their way or not at all. Going by history of course.

If they put an even bigger HDD on the XB1, the price would be well over $500, which wouldn't be good for sales.

Once the price drops to around $450, I bet there'll be a $500 model with a 750Gb-1Tb HDD.

Not a question of a bigger hard drive being included, but the option of being able to personally upgrade it if you choose to do so

Because they are going to add external hard drive support which is basically the same

If I put In a faster hard drive then it would cut down on boot time and loading times, so no it isn't the same

If you have a 500gig hard drive in there now and you updated to a 1 terabyte, then you are only adding another 500gigs because you still have to transfer over your previous data. Not to mention the fact that if you can only have one hard drive then the old one will just go to waste once you replace it.

Wouldn't it make more sense to actually just expand that hard drive with an additional 1 terabyte drive for a total 1.5 terabytes or whatever size you wanna add. You utilize the space of the original drive as well as the new one. This is actually the more cost effective way.

Speed man speed, if I can cut loading times by 10-20 seconds I'm all for it. Why wouldn't everyone else be?

They aren't a customer friendly company, everything is done for their benefit. Remember the DRM, Internet check ins and the ban on used games Microsoft wanted?

Look at everything they do, forced KINECT 2.0 despite 65% of the people NOT wanting it.

Making all your headphones worthless unless you buy their $25 adapter.

Shipping an unfinished UI with the friends list, and party systems BROKEN, which by the way are the two most important features of the UI.

No data management system for the XBOX ONE.

Pie in the sky lies about clouds and false promises.

They only started giving games away with XBL because PS+ did it first and PS+ gives away amazing, current games. XBL gives away very old games that nobody wants anymore.
