A new report points to Microsoft expanding its iOS and Android Xbox Live implementation beyond its SmartGlass applications.
According to a report from The Verge, and a since removed job posting from Microsoft's job site, Microsoft has plans to push the Xbox platform further into mobile devices outside of its Window Phones. Currently, SmartGlass apps are available for iOS and Android devices, and Microsoft has even experimented with offering Achievements for non-Windows Phone exclusive games like Wordament.
Before the job listing was pulled down it read, "We will create a modern framework that is open-source, lightweight, extensible and scalable across various platforms including Windows Store, Windows Phone, iOS, and Android." Apparently, Microsoft wants to make implementing Xbox Live into applications an easier process, encouraging more mobile developers to take advantage of it.
