If Microsoft sold XBOX, who would you want to buy them?

Valve.

Then there really would be Steam-like deals on Xbox Live.

I'm not sure anyone would want to buy the xbox division.

It's pretty well known that it isn't profitable.

I'm not sure if anyone would want to buy it and if they spin it off, it will go down without Microsoft pumping in money to keep it alive.

Hardware maybe.

The last ten years of say, XBL says you're dead wrong though.......nice to see SONY finally was able to ease into a piece of the subscription pie, maybe they'll actually put some $$$$ into R&D towards their network now.

Steam or Milton Bradley. It could be called the S1 or the MBox1

No, the entire xbox division hasn't made Microsoft a single cent yet:

And it's still not actually profitable, according to experts.

Considering that article is from a year ago, add (or subtract?) another ~$2b to the total. They openly admitted to spending that much on advertising and securing exclusives for the Xbone.

Umm, dude....that article is based on the opinion of a single developer (mobile.....can't find any bias in that article..../sarcasm). Not only is it referring to the hardware (just as I said), but it also suggests SONY has lost nearly twice that much.

So, try again pls.

Out of those? Probably Valve. Why would anyone want Amazon to buy them? I'd prefer an actual gaming company like Valve buys them because at least they have a clue about gaming in general, and they'd do the Xbox brand some service unlike Nintendo who'd just market the system to 10 year olds like they do with everything else. And Sony couldn't afford to buy the Xbox brand.
