Can Xbox one get viruses?

I apologize for "freaking out" on you but considering how many times I was labeled a troll and liar and all that in my topic, it just annoyed me that people still said I was lying. I didn't realize another user had made a similar topic.

as for consoles getting viruses, i would imagine it could be possible if a bunch of hackers spent alot of time or whatever and ms left their system vulnerable. people seem to find ways to hack anything when they dedicate enough time to trying to find exploits and stuff.

but who knows? could probably happen anyways. i wouldnt think it would be impossible. its way easier to get hacked on a pc or your phone i would figure.

right now though the systems still fairly new. im sure there would be a few hiccups here and there but if anything major were to happen im sure we would have heard about it and seen some kind of evidence to support it by now.

Since PS4 and the Xbox One are more PC-like than previous generations, a virus does not specifically need to target a console to affect either system. Seriously, do not surf for pr0n on PC-like game console...

damn. thats the whole reason i buy consoles in the first place.

no wonder why my disc tray opens and closes all the time, turns on at weird times at night to tell me that i have a virus and to install their software to remove it, and i get random friend requests from people with sexy names asking me to go their website, and my message box flooded with viagra ads

no just kidding, none of that happens to me. i guess i dont go to enough pron sites.

I had it exchanged because even though it wasn't a virus, my system kept glitching on me and crap and I just didn't feel like having to send it to Microsoft and wait how ever long it was for them to fix it and send it back to me.

So the issue was with your xb1? Your particular xb1 was defective?

Or are all xb1's prone/vulnerable to this "glitch" you have encountered?

I said this already but I'll say it again, it wasn't a virus, it was just ignorance on my part. When I said it kept glitching on me, I meant that my system kept freezing on me.

First of all, i apologize if i seem to nag you with your "incident" on your xb1. I do understand that it was not a virus, my concern here is, what caused your previous xb1 to glitch and freeze on you? And also if this incident of yours can potentially occur to other xb1 units that are in good working condition or if your previous xb1 just was defective out of the box.

You're fine man, your question is coming off as genuine to me. And the glitching/freezing, to me anyways, seemed like it was defective hardware.
