Looks like TitanFall's not all it's cracked up to be.

Mw2 was "The Beast", Halo 3 wasn't as much, but titanfall is over-hyped for really. Its not bad looking, fast-paced... thats what i want in a multiplayer game its good i tried the beta on pc "although didn't get far cuz exams", but once again this game is over-hyped.

A metacritic in the high 80's is pretty impressive for a multiplayer only game.

TF2, CS, etc

I'm curious about the etc... What other games are there?

Oh... And CS doesn't have a meta in the 90's.

Even though Eurogamer clearly love it, they did say that once you hit a point where the levelling slows down that it all gets a bit samey. So what really matters is whether Respawn can do things with the game so that when the first month high wears off for people that they don't just move on in droves - which tends to happen with a lot of MP only games. The challenge will be keeping it fresh enough to keep more than the hardcore playing long term.

On a side note, several sites have held off with scores until they can have time to play it 'in the wild' which means most of the scores we're seeing are based purely on the 2 day MS review event they all went to. Not ideal for a long term overview.

Yeah, everywhere that matters have been giving awesome scores.

But... It scored a single 7!!! A 7! More like TitanFAIL!

This is so bad that not only am I canceling my preordered CE, I'm canceling the vacation I took off work to play it. I'd rather be at work than playing a game with a review score that bad.

Nah. See you at midnight.

Some newspaper critic from Canada doesn't matter to me....I suppose it matters to you because its like to one review (that we all knew was inevitable anyway) that threw off the average.

Can't wait until tomorrow. Epic awaits.

How many of those are legit, though? We all know that Microsoft can't afford Titanfall being a failure. If Titanfall, their pride and joy, would get the 6/10 scores that an online-only FPS with only 5 modes, no free-for-all and a choppy frame rate deserves, it would be a huge blow to the Xbox One. So I wouldn't put it past Microsoft to throw some extra dollar bills at all the reviewers to make it seem as if Titanfall is the best thing since sliced bread.

Don't get me wrong. I really enjoyed Titanfall's gameplay. But there's things wrong with it on all fronts. There's no singleplayer. OK, I guess. And then it turns out you can count the amount of multiplayer modes on one hand. I will admit that 15 maps is not a bad number (I don't know the amount of maps that games like Modern Warfare and Halo 3 had at launch), but the multiplayer also seems fairly barebones to me. 792p is also not impressive. I don't foresee the Xbox One version looking drastically better than the 360 version. Unless they made the 360 version's graphics intentionally worse. And frame rate dips aren't that big a deal. Most games have those at some point. But if it's really as bad as the Destructoid review says it is, then that's just sad.

TL:DR: Titanfall isn't a 9/10 game, it's more like a 7/10 game based on the amount of content (or lack thereof) and the graphics issues. And it's especially not worth the $60 price tag. $40 would be more like it.
