Bitstream Optical Audio Crackling on Headset

I just got a good deal on some Astro A40s and the Stereo Headset adapter, but I'm having a problem. Everything works great, I wanted a headset for blasting Titanfall in the middle of the night when my roommates' asleep. I've got the Optical Audio connected, but when the audio settings are set to bitsream 7.1, there's always a soft crackle in my left ear of the headset. I didn''t try it, but I've read that the same happens when you connect it to other audio output sources, so it's not my headset.

Problem goes away completely when you switch from Bitstream to Stereo Uncompressed instead. Sounds awesome but I want the 7.1. I've hard reset my system a couple of times, but that hasn't fixed mine. Anyone else notice the same thing? Any word on an update or patch?

GT: Invisiblekid17 if y'all wanna Titanfall it up.

Mine crackles on my speakers as well. It is very infrequent though. One of these days the audio will be where it should be...
