Nuts and Bolts killed the Banjo series.

The reason it Nuts and Bolts was a very different type of game, was Microsoft.

I don't know about you but I loved Kameo and Viva Piņata, heck Viva Piņata is one of my favourite games of last gen.

Kameo had old school flavor which was refreshing and viva piņata was fun. I want a true banjo successor!

But in my opinion Rare died when those guys left to form Free Radical to make Timesplitters.
Nothing really good has come from Rare since then.

Funny enough, this is the best example.

It doesn't matter what company it is, people come and go for development teams. Best example is Street Fighter, every entry has different people behind it, just how Ono is the director for SFIV, I doubt he was that heavily involved in the past games.

Microsoft and Kinect killed Rare.

Rare was given free reign for years and they didn't deliver. Most of their talent left before the MS acquisition. It was a real misinvestment and rare would have gone under eventually because Nintendo didn't want to buy them.
