With the ps4 flopping in japan like a snowcone stand in hell, not very surprising.

japan was never realy into console they prefer hand helds, plus its a small country so the numbers is gonna be different.
xbox releasing in japan would probably only sell less than a hundred

PS4s are being sold as fast as they're being released
Xbox one first day editions are still being sold.

Nice lie but the ps4 is not sold out kiddo and hasn't been for a while. Also its flopping in its own home country and never sold out there. Considering its in so many more countries and costs much less i think Sony is in pretty bad shape this gen. Must be sad to pay for shipment costs and translations and tarrifs to get ps4s in so many countries to sell 2.

You keep telling yourself that complete BS.

Speaking of flopping in Japan, how many consoles will the Xbone sell there in September? 200? How about in all of 2015? I'd guess around 10k

Well we know sony went from outselling it 2:1 in january to a less than 10% in february. A reduction of over 90%

xbox one is now the best selling console in the uk and ps4s take longer and longer to sell out on amazon.

SO YEAH!

90% increase in sales due to the Titanfall Bundle for the Xbone

72% increase in sales due to actually being in stock for the PS4....

The PS4 is still selling out in some places...and the only for "losing ground" to ever be considered is due to a lack of supply, because its painfully clear that demand for the PS4 hasn't gone down. The Xbone is still selling well although I just don't see it catching up..the gap is going to continue to grow...which in the end doesn't mean a damn thing...both consoles will continue to get their exclusives...both consoles will continue to get multiplatform games.

Xbox One released one of their big games and even had a bundle sale. That's why it made up some ground. If this trend continues then that may be something to talk about but most likely it'll be a temporary bump in sales, just like Infamous SS would give the PS4 a temporary bump in sales if PS4 wasn't dealing with supply issues.

People wouldn't buy a PS4 for Infamous SS, why? Because they already bought a PS4. There's not much growth there. Xbox is the one that has much to gain because they're so far behind.

Not surprising seeing how Japan doesn't care about the PS4. Shame if you look back at how they ate into the PS2.

X1 had it's best month since release and PS4 still outsold it 2-1 world wide...define "losing ground."

The thing about "world wide" is that there's no money in it. There's a reason MS focuses on the Western market the way it does, because there's actual money being made here.

Put it this way, there are actually more PS3s in people's homes than 360s, yet there are 100,000,000 more 360 games out there than PS3 games. More consoles =/= doing better, more games = doing better.

This is the big reason why the PS4 ended up the way it did. Sony took engineering of it away from it's Japanese people and gave it to Americans. And Sony has pivoted towards the US vs. Japan this new console gen. It remains to be seen if it'll ultimately pay off and they can dethrone MS has the king of the Western console market, but they at least understand it.

It's not that there isn't room for growth. Many people hold out on buying a console till a game they really want to play needs that new console. Infamous is a good example of that as you can't get it anywhere else. The limiting factor though is that there just aren't many PS4s in stock. They actually still do regularly sell out which is why we are seeing such high sales numbers from it. It'll certainly still give a boost to sales numbers, just not as much as if say supply wasn't an issue.
