XB1 people are a funny bunch keep hoping for miracles from MS. Maximum Gflops is dictated by hardware specs, not software.
A bad software/driver may utilize only 40-50% of the maximum theoretical power, better software may utilize close up to 90%. But it can't over come the hardware limit. If the specs says 1.18 Gflops, then that is the absolute best power the software can reach.
Who needs miracles? Microsoft has built a great machine worth of it's next-gen status and maintains a clear dominance over it's competition in game releases now and into the foreseeable future. We can only hope for, not a miracle, but a diligent focus on it's continued success in the development of wonderful exclusive franchises and the development of original new IP to keep us entertained for the next 6-8 years until the next console cycle.
More PR nonsense, you'd have thought they'd have learnt their lesson by now.
And it's also topics like these that have made the board a joke and why people complain why there's no good topics.
It just puzzles me as to why microsoft keep taking this 'spout techno babble at uneducated people and they'll jump on it like headless chicken' approach. Anybody with even the slightest amount of IT knowledge knows that updating the direct x version isnt going to make a massive difference to graphics performance. If anything the update is just going to add some new fancy lighting effects, which the XBO's graphics card probably wont be able to support on a large scale.
Willing to wait and see, but from a development point of view, it's going to make little difference, and it's definatly not going to push the resolutions and framerates up as much as a lot of people seem to think.
