Because they can't go back to $500.

If or when they try to go back, sales will fall of the cliff because people will think the previous price will return and they'll hold off until the price goes down again.

Lol.
I wouldn't mind a game where I could be a Russian or North Korean character and shoot the us troops for once.

I think they're planning a 399$ bundle that includes a free game.
Just trying to take it down slowly so investors don't get high blood pressure.

The faster they do it, the longer they stay relevant.
Sure they could stay at 499$ until Sony is confirmed 2:1 globally, but that's not particularly smart.
It was needed.

Well, Sony boosted their price in Canada, which was surprising. Don't think that'll happen again, but it's possible.

As soon as Canada takes over the world.

Learn the difference between Canada raising prices, and Sony raising prices.
It's beyond stupid at this point that you don't know the difference.

Once you go back, you never go back.

I can't imagine them even thinking of going back to $500. It's common sense that that wouldn't work. So many reasons why that would be a dumb move.
