What is the best headset for under $150 or so?

Are you wanting surround sound or not? Wired or wireless? For wireless, I say look into the Turtle Beach PX4 as that is around $150 and offers surround sound. You will still need the MS headset adapter for chat though. If you dont care about surround sound then the Turtle Beach XO7 is $159 but very nice and comes with the headset adapter already.

As long as I can hook it up to my controller I'm fine. I just don't want to have to hook it up to my XboxOne

I'd prefer surrord sound to make it more immersive since I can't have a actual surrord sound system.

You'd have to stick to stereo to not hook the headphones to the console, the controller with the headset adapter attached only outputs stereo. The MS headphones for $80 are pretty nice, but I don't know how they compare the other available headsets.

I've been using my Tritton AX720's since the Dolby update (and chat adapter) came out and I'm happy with how they sound. I'm not sure if they still make that model but I got mine for about 120 bucks.

I remember them saying that surround sound isn't impossible and that they could add it through another controller update.

xo fours are great and they output the exact same quality as the x0 sevens just the sevens are more comfortable I heard but its not worth the extra $30, Also the ps4 gold headset are the best sounding out of all the head sets under $150 and the great thing is you can use it if you ever get a ps4 also they are only $99 and better then my xo4 and my sisters xo7 on the xbox one.
