Help with Headset Purchase

#1SpardabxPosted 3/31/2014 12:06:05 AM
Hello,

I need help on choice of headset. There are couple of Xbox One headset releases as well as the adapter. That said which one is good to buy? If adapter, which one is good? Would like to get surround sound as well if works with adapter. Also, does the adapter makes the headset from others mic quality better. I mean the mic quality on Xbox One seems clearer and updated, but maybe it's just that starter mic.

Any suggestions?

None of the Xb1 specific headsets have surround sound, but they all plug right into the controller to get Stereo sound.

If you want surround you would have to buy a last gen headset that plugs in via Optical.

Will the mic quality be up to level of Xbox One quality or will it be like 360? Also, any good idea which headset is good with surround sound?

To use the mic with a set of headphones connected via optical you would still have to have a cord going into the adapter on the controller. Hooking up headphones to optical only will only give you game sounds but no chat support. If thats incorrect, somebody please correct me.

As a side note I think all of the current Xbox One branded headphones available come with the headset adapter, I didn't realize that at first.

Never made much use of my mic so I can't comment on the mic sound quality stuff.
