we've been waiting for years, how much longer do we need to wait for the kinect?

Honestly I think that ship has sailed...I'm not saying it's impossible for the Kinect to have good games but I think devs would rather just ignore it or, program simple things for it to do (like voice commands in Mass Effect/Dragon Age) than make a full on game for it. It's kind of a shame since the original tech demo back however many years ago looked promising.

Developers hate working with it. Microsoft tried forcing them into compliance, but they don't have that kind of leverage anymore. The technology is so unreliable that MS had to update the Xbox One interface to work with traditional controller input.

They don't have the leverage anymore? Interesting, I keep hearing the opposite, MS bullying studios to do one thing, bullying consumers to buy another, bullying competitors etc. Interesting they have leverage for that bs but not enough leverage for this bs. Good to know.

I assume you have a source where MS had to update the UI to work with a traditional controller input since Kinect was unreliable? My understanding was it had support for that all along. We'll wait.

I find it hilarious that people cry that it's me in the thread rather than simply talking about the topic.

Xbox fans talk about, if everyone has a Kinect developers will be more inclined to use it, I'm simply asking how long do we have to wait?

Kinect has been around for years.

Maybe this is why:

I could go on but tired of looking it up. Your intentions on this board are painfully obvious. Hence why those that recognize you are not interested in discussing anything with you.

You guys think lilj will respond to this or will be pretend he didn't get called out yet again? LOL

Kinect is GREAT for dance games. That's it. They never should have forced this on everyone, however.

its a pointless gimmick like the wii u controller or most touch controls, I doubt it will ever be heavily implemented, i like it for controlling movies with voice commands but thats about it.

Well, I think after this gen, MS should get feedback from developers (MS has gotten their input on in development consoles in the past, along with the XBO) and if dev say their done with kinect because it's junk then MS should ditch it.

I'm sure part of the reason it was included with the XBO was because dev. said it had a low adoption rate last gen so they didn't bother trying to incorporate it, but if kinect only games turn out to be junk this gen, then MS has no excuses to ditch it on the next system.

kinect didn't take off the first time, and it sure as hell isn't gonna take off the second time. It's a failed gimmick, and it's hard for microsoft to grasp that.

It didn't take off because it had limited support and was released barely 3 1/2 years ago. gamers where anticipating a new system at the time and weren't going to drop an extra $150 (that 1/2 the cost of the 360 system itself) on a an accessory that was being released on the tale end of a consoles life cycle.
